About the Artist

Steve Glorius is an iron sculptor with more than over 30 years of experience transforming reclaimed scrap metal into intricate, handmade wildlife sculptures. With a deep appreciation for nature and a background in ironwork and steel supply, Steve brings a unique perspective to his craft—blending industrial skill with artistic vision.
Each sculpture is created using traditional methods, including oxygen-acetylene torch cutting and welding, often requiring weeks of hands-on labor. From sea turtles and dolphins to mermaids and great white sharks, Steve’s work captures the spirit and movement of the natural world.
Steve’s art has earned recognition in both private and public collections. His 600-pound Great White Shark sculpture was featured at The Calvert Marine Museum, and his pieces are held by notable collectors, including actress Mariel Hemingway. In 2017, he donated his Momma & Baby humpback whale sculpture to benefit the South Fork Natural History Museum, where it was acquired by environmentalist Susan Rockefeller.
A passionate advocate for marine life, Steve has spent recent summers in The Hamptons and along Long Island’s East End, where meaningful connections with the local community have helped grow his business through commissioned art. Through every piece, he strives to inspire joy and spark a deeper appreciation for the wildlife that surrounds us.
